Basketball – Sukan RIA 2014
After the hiking event on the Sunday morning, the Inter-Company NBT Basketball Tournament tipped off at the Batu Bersurat Basketball court. The first match-up was in Group A of the four-group tournament. The first game was between BAG Network Sdn Bhd and Jerudong Park Medical Centre Sdn Bhd which JPMC won 92-62. The opening ceremony was officiated by Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.
Sukan RIA kicks off
It was scorching hot this morning as the Sukan Ria Antara Syarikat 2014 kicked off today at the Tasik Sarubing Recreational Park. Previously it was meant to be at Bukit Shahbandar but the venue was changed and I’m glad it did because not many know of this recreational park and it’s a good exposure for the public. The guest of honour was Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Halbi bin Hj Mohd Yussof.
Hike starts off Sukan Ria
THE month-long Sukan Ria, Inter-company Sports Festival, kicked off yesterday at the Tasik Sarubing Recreational Park where 600 company employees and their family took part in a hiking challenge. There were two hiking routes: the 4.6km Hiking Challenge for company employers and employees, and the 2km Fun Hike for the employees and their family members. The fastest men and women to complete the Hiking Challenge won cash prizes of $300, $200 and $150 for those who came first, second and third respectively.
Tasek Sarubing to host Sukan Ria
THE fast approaching Sukan Ria will hold its very first activity at Tasik Sarubing Recreational Park at Subok area on April 27. Participants who have signed up are reminded to be at the venue at 5.45am for attendance checking as the counter will be closed at 6.30am. There will also be a safety briefing, followed by aerobics and a warming-up session. After that, the official opening ceremony will take place, and participants are ready to hike off for the Hiking Challenge Category and the Fun Hike Category.
